The Power Of The Truth In My Own Words

Often times we lie due to low self esteem and the constant worry of what people think about us so we are hardly ever worried about what we think of ourselves.   The farther one's true self is from their ideal self, the more likely they are to lie to boost themselves up, in others' eyes or their eyes... or perhaps how they perceive others to perceive them. Hmmm... that is a hard train of thought to follow, but lying is a complex phenomenon. Small lies that avoid conflict are probably the most common sort of lie...and avoiding conflict is a top motivator for deception. The Five Levels of Truth-Telling: First, you tell the truth to yourself about yourself. Then you tell the truth to yourself about another. At the third level, you tell the truth about yourself to another. Then you tell your truth about another to that other. And finally, you tell the truth to everyone about everything. ~  Neale Donald Walsch Conversations with God (Book 2).

I think the human mind is quite deceitful. Many people come close just to measure up their lives with ours, they want to know if we are happy and succeeding. I have come to realize that the less we worry or think about what people think of us, the happier we are. One of my favorite truth quote is "Always tell the truth. That way you don`t have to remember what you said". The biggest consequence of telling a lie is it leads to another lie, then another and another to cover up for just one lie. Character is who you are, reputation is what people think you are. Work on your character and be truthful to yourself. Truth and Honesty is the oldest and most powerful of all human values.
Life is beautiful, live it without any fears or rush. We always end up having our desires, although not when we want. Sometimes it`s bigger, at other times it`s less than what we expect but there`s no better way to be happy than appreciating what we have especially when we believe it`s what we deserve. Be happy, be you and stay true to yourselves!
